It was a tight game all through, with tight marking and maximum effort.

Garnish took the lead with a Sean Terry O' Sullivan free in the fourth minute, and missed a chance to go two clear before Urhan's Sean O' Sullivan squared it with a free for Urhan. The next ten minutes or so brought only erratic shooting with Garnish missing three scores, and Urhan missing a goal and a point. When the deadlock was broken it was by Sean Terry, converting a free that he won himself.

Urhan stormed up the field, and missed another goal chance before Conor Lowney broke free from centrefield on seventeen minutes to register the game's first score from  play, a right-footed point from distance.

Five minutes later, the Sean Dwyer fielded a high ball, turned and kicked long and low to Sean O' sullivan who set off on a fine run before off-loading to Conor Lowney, who goaled low to the keeper's right. Urhan 1-02 Garnish 0-02.

Sean Terry O' sullivan pointed from play to keep Garnish ticking over, and spurned another chance as half-time approached. Urhan countered, with Luke daly fielding the resultaing kick-out, playing long and early to Conor Lowney who set up Sean O' Sullivan for the game's second goal. When the same player pointed immediately after, it left the half-time score Urhan 2-03 Garnish 0-03.

garnish had it all to do, and wasted no time on the re-start. A ean terry free and a Dean Henshaw point reduced the margin to four, only for Sean O' Sullivan to convert an Urhan free and bring it back up to five.

It stayed that way until the three-quarter mark, when Garnish, prospering at centrefield now hit with  staedy flow of points. Paul O' Neill, Dean Henshaw, Sean Terry and McCabe hit within a five-minute spell, and the lead was down to one..

Further Garnish chances were passed up and hit wide as nerves kicked in, and the scoreboard didn't budge for another five minutes. Sean Henshaw broke free of the cover for a fine point, and the scores were level.

Urhan had now swung momentum their way with a great show of spirit, but a succession of turnovers yielded only three wides.

As the game headed into injury time it was Garnish who got the final chance of the game, a fine point that proved a worthy winner of a dramatic game.
