Both teams were severely depleted for a variety of reasons so fielded younger teams than usual. Both played excellent football over the hour. The first half saw Urhan well on top with stout defence and commanding centrefield play creating a platform for some excellent forward play and they led 2-08 to 2-06 at the break and probably should have led by more.

Having already rearranged the team before the interval to cope with a black card, Urhan then lost centrefielder Alan O' Donoghue to injury and they were forced to further rejig their team. Bantry began to take control and reduced the lead from seven points to two with steady pressure and fine play, Urhan defending with their lives to keep themselves in it. Finally the home team converted one of their breakaway moves to restore the lead to three in added time and a very enjoyable game finished on the resulting kick-out. Final Score: Urhan 3-12 Bantry Blues 2-12.
